of Grass Lake, MI, age 95, went to be with her Lord Monday, June 3, 2019 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. Marie Agnes Magin was born November 25, 1923 to Richard Henry and Francis Claire (Kwiatkowski) Magin in Alpena, Michigan. She attended St. Mary Catholic School, and graduated from Alpena High School. She was employed by Alpena Power Company.
On October 18, 1945 Marie married Christopher Edward Dault at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpena. They moved to Flagstaff Arizona in 1946 where they had six sons. They moved back to the Greenbush, Michigan area where they had their final son. Marie assisted Ed’s carpentry business by keeping books and doing administrative tasks. In 1976 they returned to the Alpena and Grand Lake area. After Ed’s death in 2005, Marie moved to the Chelsea, Michigan area.
Marie was active in the St. Mary, Alpena Rosary Society until she moved to Chelsea. She was prolific with her hands, crocheting hundreds of baby blankets, hot pads, afghans, and lap blankets for family, church benefits, and later to support the Chelsea Senior Center where her quiet but loving presence made her a beloved member. She also sewed many things, but made jean quilts that were treasured by lots of her kids and grandkids. She visited elders in the local homes with Ed who played piano while she visited and blessed the residents with her kindness. She always was ready to serve whatever food she had to meet the needs of many who visited her. Not a woman of many words, she let her sweet spirit speak for her as she interacted with those God placed in her path.
She is survived by six sons: Michael E (Mirna) of Knox IN, Phillip H of Oscoda MI, Charles L (Susan) of Plymouth, IN, Patrick T of Troy, MI, Lawrence J (Patti) of Grass Lake, MI, and Raymond B (Cheryl) of Ray Township, MI; grandchildren: MaryJo Peltier, Catherine (Wes) Pruden, Jessica (Jeffrey) Wisniewski, Nathan (Jill) Dault, Eric (Mary) Dault, Alison Dault (Vann), Emily Dault, Daniel (Nicole) Dault, Amy (Corey) Patterson, David (Lisa) Dault, Sharon Dault, Tamra (Jacob) Roth, and Paige Dault; great-grandchildren: Emily and Sara Peltier, Beckett and Parker Pruden, Jonathan and Jenna Wisniewski, Christopher and Ryan Dault; Chloe, Clayton and Chase Dault, Maya and James Dault, Della and Henry Patterson, and Alethia, Eliana, Carolyn and Katherine Dault.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Edward Dault; her son, Richard Paul Dault; brother, Richard Francis Magin; and sister, Patricia Thompson.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, June 8, 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea, with the V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10-11 am. Donations may be made to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, MI, your local hospice agency, St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea, MI or St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpena, MI.
