of Chelsea, Michigan, age 96, died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born October 13, 1922 in Sylvan Township, Michigan, the son of Clare A. & Ethel M. (Robards) Walz.  Bob graduated from Chelsea High School in 1940, and served in the Army from 1945 - 1946. He worked at Park-Worden-Walz Corporation, where he delivered fuel oil and gas. Bob was a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Chelsea (Olive Lodge #156), and was a life member of the Chelsea Rod and Gun Club. He loved to hunt, fish, and garden.

On July 5, 1960, he married Alice C. Lovell, and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Janet (David Gesswein) Walz of Bethesda, MD. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Leader.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 22, 1:30 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea,  with Rev. Dr. Ray Maurer officiating. The family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:30 before the funeral.   Bob's ashes will be buried  in Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea in the Spring.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Arbor Hospice or the Chelsea Area Fire Department.
