of Chelsea, MI, age 98, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born March 15, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Fred Palmer & Mary (Costello) Todd.   Mary Lou taught Church school, sang in the choir, led small exercise & discussion groups. She worked on many committees in the minister’s wives groups.  She worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield and a library during her early life, then focused on being a mom and minister’s wife.  She was active at Chelsea Retirement Community and volunteered in their Thrift Shop and Gift Shop.

On June 26, 1943, she married Rev. John S. Jury at the Metropolitan Methodist Church in Detroit, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2003. Survivors include two sons, Theodore John (Elaine) Jury of  Utica, MI and Stephen Todd Jury of Flushing, MI;  two grandchildren, Matthew & Andrew Jury of Denver, CO; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Stayton Todd, David F. Todd, J. Beecher Todd, Fred P. Todd, Jr., Wesley R. Todd.

   A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept 12, 10:30 am at Chelsea Retirement Community, Towsley Chapel, with Rev. Tina Zimmerman officiating. The family will greet friends from 10-10:30 am. Burial will be in the memorial garden of First United Methodist Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Retirement Community Foundation.  Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
