of Chelsea, MI, age 106, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 20, 2018 in her home. She was born March 28, 1912 in Cloverdale, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Langhals) Wolff.  Jo resided in Chelsea or the Chelsea area for 103 of her 106 years of life. On March 10, 1931, she married William (Bill) R. Reule. During WWII she was a Rosie the Riveter at Federal Screw Works. She was an active member in the South Sylvan Extension Club and served as a judge for many food and craft categories at the Monroe and Chelsea Community Fairs. She and Bill shared a love of reading. They read 2 newspapers cover to cover daily and, at 106, Jo was still reading her favorite Westerns. They were avid gardeners well into their 80’s, growing vegetables from seed to harvest then sharing the bounty with family and friends. Jo enjoyed canning, cooking and baking. She was always making something, if she wasn’t in the garden or cooking, she was working on projects like basket weaving, copper tooling, china painting and so much more.

One of Jo’s greatest passions was Chelsea Senior Citizens. She was the third member to join the group and worked tirelessly to create a place for seniors to gather to meet old friends and make new ones, to provide meals, create a program for arts and crafts and opportunities to travel the country. In 2000, she was honored to be the Senior Queen of the Chelsea Community Fair.

Jo will be remembered for her zest for life and dedication to her husband, family and friends. We will always remember her beautiful oil paintings and especially the delicious pies and cookies she made for all of us through the years.

Jo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, grandson William Drummond, her parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Roslyn Drummond-Freed of Williamsburg, MI; 2 grandchildren, Walter Drummond II and Dawn Shields; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Senior Citizens, 512 Washington St., Chelsea, MI 48118. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel.
