photo of Ruby PagenAge 91, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born March 25, 1920 in Sandusky, Michigan, the daughter of Albert and Carolyn (Graves) Rich .

 

She was a member of Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron.  Ruby worked with mentally impaired students in the Port Huron School District.  She loved to walk, hike and bicycle in the outdoors.

On August 31, 1941, she married Nick Pagen in Sandusky, MI,  and he preceded her in death on December 10,  1985. Survivors include a daughter, Dianne (William) Ballagh of Dexter; a son, Dennis Pagen of Spring Mills, PA; four grandchildren, Lenae Vander Bijl, Rachelle Shurtliff, Joel Rinn, & Aaron Rinn; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dwayne, Vernon, & Ed Rich; one sister, Donna Adair. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda K. Pagen on July 16,1972; three brothers, Floyd, Herb, and Eugene Rich; and five sisters, Viva McQueen, Velma Nichol, Winnie Lepine, Nina Watson, Lena Heemer.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 25, 2011, 1:00 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea. The family received friends Friday from 11 am - 1 pm. Burial was held Saturday, Nov. 26, 1:00 pm at Downing Cemetery in Deckerville, MI.  Memorial contributions may be made to Compassion International 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80921.
