Age 77, passed away after a hard fight against a glioblastoma brain tumor, Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Chelsea, Michigan.  His kindness and mild demeanor was maintained until the end. Bob is survived by his wife, Cathy, his three daughters, Brenda (Bryan), Carrie (Jason), Dawna; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Carly (Cameron), Cassidy, Lydia, Paige, and Caden; and four great-grandchildren, Brailynn, Owen, Landon and Bennett. He is also survived by his sisters, Eleanor (Robert) and Carolyn and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie, and his brother Edwin. He will be missed very much by his family and friends.

Bob was born November 24, 1940 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Walter and Alice Rice. He lived in the area most of his life raising his family and working at Chrysler Proving Grounds for 30 years.  He moved to Colorado 2 1/2 years ago. Bob had a unique sense of adventure that usually involved one or more of the following:  cars, boats, snowmobiles, trains, RVs, tractors, horses or mountains.  He was mechanically talented and could fix anything.  He cared about people and regularly participated in Bible education as Jehovah’s Witnesses are known for.  He touched the lives of many.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 1:00 pm at Chelsea Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 17690 West Old US 12, Chelsea, Michigan 48118. Private burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixboro, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chelsea Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, or the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Ste 550 Chicago, IL 60631. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
