of Saline, MI, formerly of Chelsea.  Age 56, died Sunday, October 30, 2011. He was born May 13, 1955 in Chelsea, Michigan, the son of Robert P. & Colleen T. (Rappette) Houle.

Dan loved fly fishing, camping, and building campfires; he was always excited to see his family at various gatherings.  When camping Dan was always the camp chef.  In Dan’s spare time he enjoyed making chocolates and candies.  He attended St. Andrews Catholic Church in Saline and St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.  Dan worked at Greenhills Schools in Ann Arbor.

He married Rachel L. Reuter on August 1, 1998 in Cincinnati, OH, and she survives. Other survivors include his parents of Chelsea; three daughters, Brooke of Birmingham, Lauren of Birmingham, and Sydney of Saline; five brothers, Gary (Liz) of Ann Arbor, Rodney (Kathy) of Jackson, Lynn (Annette) of Manchester, Anthony (Kathy) of South Lyon, and Kevin (Mary) of Midland; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, November 5, 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea,  with Rev. Dr. William J. Turner officiating.  Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chelsea.

The family received friends at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea on Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 2-4 pm. Visitation continued on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m at St. Mary Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 14200 Old US 12, Chelsea, MI 48118.
