of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Anaheim, CA, age 91, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born September 5, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Roy & Flora (Aspacher) Kelley.

   Bob moved to Michigan from Anaheim, CA five years and one month ago.  He was a US Army Veteran.  Bob earned a degree in Applied Physics from Hofstra University and worked on the Saturn rocket for GE at Huntsville, AL.  Late in his career, he became the environmental engineer for the City of Anaheim, CA, retiring on October 17, 1985.  He loved to hike and play bridge.  While in Chelsea, he lived in Towsley Village at Chelsea Retirement Community.  We appreciate the high quality care the Towsley staff gave him.

   Survivors include six nieces and nephews, Nancy (John) Daly, Don (Donna) Kelley, Barbara (Terry) Glenister, Diane Evans, Doug (Barbara) Kelley, and David (Reneé) Kelley.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Kenneth Kelley, and a sister, Doris Smith.

A memorial service was held Thursday, September 4, 11:00 am at Towsley Village Chapel, with Rev. Cathy Rafferty officiating.  The family received friends from 10:30 am until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Sierra Club or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Arrangements were handled by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
