of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Ann Arbor, MI, age 91, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at  Chelsea Community Hospital.

Harvey, the son of Harry S. and Ada T. Bennett, was born in 1919, on the Bennett family farm near Westfield, Illinois.  He moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1943 where he worked at Argus Camera, followed by 20 years of work for the Ford Motor Company as a Design Checker.  In 1950 he married Ruth W. Baily, a registered nurse at the University of Michigan Hospital; they had a loving marriage of 58 years.  Harvey was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor for over 60 years, and a Life Member of the Masons.  He was an avid trout fisherman, traveler, camper, birder, photographer, reader, and watercolor artist.  Harvey was a loving and devoted husband to Ruth and dear father to his four children, Cheryl (Brian) Fox of Lamoille, Nevada; Craig (Deborah) Bennett of Battle Creek, Michigan; Christopher Harvey Bennett, and Clark Brian Bennett. Loved by grandchildren Eric, and Adam (Samma) Fox, and Brian, Carol Ruth, and Elizabeth Bennett, and Anne (Noah) Miller. Harvey is also survived by his sisters Opal Littlejohn and Pat Johnson, and many nieces, nephews and other family.  Harvey was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his parents, his brothers Charles, Hal, Fred, and Richard, his sisters Louise and Irene, and his sons Christopher and Clark.  A memorial service for Harvey will be held in the Chelsea Retirement Center Chapel Sunday August 21, 2011 at 3:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chelsea Retirement Community Memorial Fund or the charity of your choice.  Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, Michigan.
