Of Chelsea, age 91, died Friday, February 28, 2014.  He was born April 4, 1922 in Roxanne Township, Michigan, the son of Fremont Lee & Ruby Louise (Huffman) Boyer.

Laurance lived in Chelsea most of his life.  He attended Grand Ledge High School, but after retiring, he completed his degree at Chelsea High School in 1981.  Laurance served in the US Army from Oct. 1942 to Nov. 1945, including service in the Persian Gulf Command during WWII.  He was in the Army Signal Corp.  Laurance worked for Rockwell for 36 years.  He was a member of Chelsea First United Methodist Church and was Commander of the Chelsea VFW. 

On Feb. 1, 1946, he married Laureta Elaine Williams at the Chelsea First United Methodist Church, and she survives.  Other survivors include three children, Beverly (Richard) Wright of El Paso, TX, Lauren (Jeanne) of Hudson, FL, Robin (Robin) Boyer of Chelsea; a brother, Winston of Chelsea; four grandchildren, Kevin Wengren, Laurie (Matt) Wolfe, Justin Boyer, Anna Boyer; three great-grandchildren, Elese, Carly and Trent Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Floyd, Keith, Fremont, Duane, and a sister, Eulahlee Packard.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.
