Age 89, of Chelsea, died Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Chelsea Community Hospital.
He was born October 28, 1924 in Horton, Michigan, the son of Floyd E and Lois (Larkin) Pickell.
George worked for Chelsea Milling, and he retired from Honnegers.
On October 23, 1948 he married Marian Margaret Horning in Manchester, MI, and she preceded him in death on September 4, 2007. He is survived by four sons, David (Sally) of Hudson, WY, Robert (Terisa) of Florida, Douglas (Vickie) of Grass Lake, and Eric of Ann Arbor; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private service will be held. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Community Hospital, 775 S. Main St, Chelsea, MI 48118. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel.
