of Grass Lake, MI, age 90, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Arbor Hospice. He was born November 8, 1923 at the family home on Kilmer Road, the son of William & Martha (Kothe) Broesamle.

Roy attended Reimenschneider Country School and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1941.    For a time he worked for his uncle, Lawrence Boettner.  He served in the US Army from March 5, 1945 to Nov 23, 1946, where he was a personal bodyguard for Judge Parker in the Nuremberg Trials.  He returned home to work the farm with his father and brother Allen, which he did until the time of his death.  He was a life-long member of Salem Grove UMC, confirmed Easter 1934, where he served as trustee,  sang in the choir,  served as a sexton of the cemetery for many years .  Roy quietly lived his faith all of his life.  He was also a  member of the North Sylvan Cavanaugh Lake Grange.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Ruth Broesamle, a nephew, John (Tammy)  Broesamle  and their daughters Cassidy  Chrissy and Katie Polzin, as well as many cousins.  He was preceded by his parents and his brother Allen.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 17, 11:00 am at Salem Grove United Methodist Church, with Pastor Christine M. Beaudoin officiating.  Burial will follow at the Salem Grove Cemetery.   The family will received friends at Cole Funeral Chapel Sunday 1-4 & 6-8, and at the church Monday 10-11 am.  Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Grove United Methodist Church, 3320 Notten Road, Grass Lake, MI 49240.
