At age 48, Shelley died Friday, January 17, 2014 at Allegiance Hospital in Jackson. She was born October 6, 1965 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Albert Floyd & Gari June (Foster) Monroe.

Shelley graduated from Clarkston High School class of 1983, and attended New Covenant Living Church of Jackson.  She was an exceptional digital artist and designer.  Shelley was a political commentator on Twitter, an avid online game player, INTJ member, an exceptional cook, gardener, seamstress, an avid science fiction reader, astronomy enthusiast and technology buff.  Shelley enjoyed travel and visited Florida frequently. Shelley was a devoted wife and mother, who, was an amazing person, loved for 30 years by her first love, and continues to be loved by so many.


On February 2, 1988, she married Kevon Goodge in Pontiac, and he thrives due to her love and devotion. Other survivors include her son, Kendrick Galen Goodge of Grass Lake; her daughter, Taryn Elise Goodge of Chicago; her parents, Albert and Gari Monroe of Chelsea; two sisters, Julie (Dennis) Deppner of Chelsea, Carrie (Chris) Phillips of Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Thursday, January 23, 1:00 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with with Pastor Jerry Cox officiating. Visitation was Thursday from 11 am -1 pm.   The family will receive friends after the service at the First United Methodist Church, 128 Park St, Chelsea.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
