of Jackson, Michigan, formerly of Chelsea, MI, age 95, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Legacy Assisted Living in Jackson. She was born September 21, 1918 in Bellaire, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph & Louise (Getrost) Jeffers.

      Ellen worked at Malloy Lithographing in Ann Arbor. She volunteered at Chelsea Retirement Community. Ellen was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

   On Feb. 1, 1939, she married Ross Batzdorfer, and he preceded her in death in 1984.  Survivors include a son, Eric (Cynthia) Batzdorfer of Gregory; two daughters, Judy (Jim) Rice of North Ridgeville, OH, Linda Ori of Salt Lake City, UT; a sister, Elizabeth Bennington of Bellaire, OH; nine grandchildren, Aaron Batzdorfer, Megan (Brian) Jackson, Jimae (Doug) Hubert, Jimmy Ori, Randy Ori, Pam (Bob) Williamson, Bryan Rice, Eric (Mary) Rice, Becky Rice; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Garnet, Edna, Mildred, Evelyn and Rosaleen; and two brothers, Floyd and Charles.

   A private burial will be held at Powhatan Point Cemetery, Powhatan, OH.  Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
