Age 61, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born August 17, 1951 in Royalton, KY, the son of Hade & Vera Vivian (Arnett) Montgomery.

Charlie worked for Malloy Lithographing for 43 years. He was an avid collector of case knives, loved photography, woodworking, and solving puzzles. Charlie loved a good challenge and enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include his life companion of many years, Susan Bareis; a son Christopher and his fiancé Melody of Canton;  two sisters, Dorothy (Al Hartman) of Covington, KY, Eula (Lloyd) Eddy of Chelsea; a brother, James Montgomery of Manchester; many nieces and nephews; and “the girls”, Sophie and Daisy Mae.

 

Funeral services were held Monday, August 12, 11:00 am at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Rev. Ann Salyer officiating.  Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chelsea.  The family received friends Sunday 1-4 & 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Community Hospital.
