of Jackson, Michigan, age 52,  passed away peacefully with his family present on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at U of M Hospital. He was born January 14, 1961 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Ralph Bernard & Barbara Jean (Green) Schlegelmilch.

Bruce graduated from Huron High School in 1979.  He worked at Thompson Shore in Dexter and Sheridan Books in Chelsea.  Bruce was an active volunteer with Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his parents of Dexter; his son, Dylan of Michigan Center, and Dylan's mother, Debbie Ledwidge; his siblings, June Schlegelmilch of Tom’s River, NJ, Tom Schlegelmilch of Ypsilanti, Ron (Bev) Schlegelmilch of Chelsea, Renee (Keith) Hafner of Ann Arbor, Kathy Schlegelmilch of Saline, Kris (Bill) McCarthy of Charlotte, NC; several nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy, and his grandparents.

To celebrate Bruce’s life, the family received friends Thursday, May 2, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his son's college fund.
