Age 95, died Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born January 15, 1917 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of Dennis and Amelia (Japor) Ferris.

Rose moved to Detroit at age 8. She was the Detroit spelling champ in 1931. She attended St. Maron's Catholic Church in Detroit.  Rose worked in a factory during World War II, at the Kresege deli, and co-owned a restaurant in Irish Hills, MI.  She loved cooking Lebanese food for family and friends.

She married her childhood sweetheart Peter Jolet on August 19, 1939 and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1994. Survivors include a son, Joseph (Sandra) Jolet of Clinton; two granddaughters, Rose Marie (Michael) Sedlecky of Brooklyn, and Tammy (John) Hartman of Dexter; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Nicole, Lindsey, Jamison, Nathan, and Morgan. She was a beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Ferris, Nassif Ferris; and a sister, Rachel McGrath.  Special thanks to her niece JoAnn, who was always there, and her caregivers at Towsley Village.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, August 23, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Village Church in Dexter, with Fr. Brendan J. Walsh officiating.  Burial took place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.  The family received friends Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel and Thursday from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph before the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Retirement Community, Arbor Hospice, or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
