Age 69, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Harper Hospital after a 3 year battle with Leukemia. She was born November 7, 1942 in Detroit, the daughter of James & Evelyn (Borlace) Muir.

Louise graduated from Wayne State University and was a teacher for many years. She then worked at Merkels, and retired from Washtenaw County after 14 years. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church before transferring to Peace Lutheran. Louise truly loved being a mother and grandmother and loved to be with her family especially around holidays. Louise loved her husband so much she would go fishing with him. She also loved to read and loved her cats. Louise stayed close with her friends and continued to meet up with the women from Child Study Club.

Louise married Thomas R. Darrow in Fowlerville, MI on Sept. 29, 2002 and he survives.  Other survivors include her two children, Julie Carrigan of Plymouth and Mike (Melanie) Thompson of LeClaire, Iowa; two step-sons, Brian T. Darrow and Jamie (Denise) Darrow; five grandchildren, Caitlyn and Clarissa Carrigan, Ryan and Reese Thompson, and Cameron Darrow. Louise was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 30,  11:00 a.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Pastor Jeffrey Draeger officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove East Cemetery, Chelsea. The family  received friends Sunday 1-5 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia Research Foundation, 3520 Lake Avenue, Suite #202, Wilmette, IL 60091-1064.
