Age 86, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at her home. She was born March 5, 1926 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Domenico & Carmella (Bonta) Rocco.  Connie was a lifelong resident of the Dexter/ Chelsea area.

She was a graduate of St. Thomas High School.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic church, and taught catechism in the 1970's.  Connie worked at Dancer’s Department store in Chelsea.

On June 8, 1946, she married Leonard Motsinger, and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, David (Vicki) Motsinger, Ronald (Loretta) Motsinger, James (Theresa) Motsinger; a daughter, Karen Nys; her grandchildren, Mark (Christina) Motsinger, Emily (Michael) Andrews, Erica Whiting, Alana Motsinger, Joel Nys, and Zachary Gascoyne; her brother Peter (Kay) Rocco; sisters-in-law Judy Rocco and Mary Rocco; a cousin Val Knowlton; and many great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her brothers, Angelo, Charles, and James Rocco, and her sisters, Chiara Santa Maria, Angeline Gelenius, and her very dear friend of over 70 years Helen Barth.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Visitation took place at Cole Funeral Chapel Monday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm, with Deacon Tom Franklin officiating.  Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor.  Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice,2366 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
