Jack was 92 years old when he went to meet Jesus on September 25, 2022. He was born on September 12, 1930, in Lincoln Park, Michigan to parents, James and Rebecca Stewart who immigrated from Scotland in 1920. He is the fifth sibling of six and only the second to be born in the U.S. Jack graduated high school in 1948, from Trenton High in Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Diane; his two daughters, Jackie Bearden and Jan (Bruce) Fleming; granddaughters Ali (Eric), Kelly (Brian), Sarah (Mike), Amy (David); great-grandchildren, Eva, Mari, Constance, Macy, Paige, Scarlett, Bruce, Diana, James, and John; and his sister Kathy.

Jack worked at Ford Motor Company as a mechanical engineer and served in the U.S. Airforce. After retirement he, along with Diane, owned and ran a restaurant, then worked as a Largo crossing guard and traffic controller for many years.

His hobbies were Scuba diving (he taught it too), archery, golfing, boating (even living on a houseboat during Michigan summers), camping, RVing, and carving (winning awards).

Jack loved everyone he met and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service and luncheon will be held Saturday, October 29, 11:00 am at the Chelsea Church of the Nazarene,  12126 Jackson Road, Dexter, MI 48130.

Donations in Jack’s name can be made to his home church or to Hospice (designate Mid-Pinellas Hospice in the notes.
