Helen passed away peacefully on September 3rd, after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded with love. Helen Alice Stell -Bishop -Druskinis was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Cempura) Stell, born on December 11th,1954, and was the youngest of five children: Theresa, Genevieve, Raymond & Anna.
Family meant the world to Helen. A strong woman, she always found a way to move forward. Education was key to her improving herself. She received her GED, a Bachelor's Degree at Cleary College, and then, in her 60s, continued at Washtenaw Community College to receive her CNA Certificate. Her actions taught us that limits are only what one puts upon themselves.
Her strength, determination, courage, fearlessness, and love will carry on with the ones she walked on this earth with. She was devoted to all her loved ones, both old and new. Her compassion and empathy for people was felt within her presence. She could be tough, and put you in your place when needed, although she would sit with you and give you her ear and compassion when you needed it most. Her laugh was contagious, her eyes kind, and her smile pure. We will miss you and are grateful for the time we had with you and for the angel we have gained. You are a beautiful soul, Helen. We will always have a piece of you with us.
Helen is welcomed by her mother and father; husbands, Dale and George; her sister, Genni; her brother, Ray; nephews, Bobby and Davey; and dear friends. She now watches over her children, Justin, Jennifer, and Helen; grandchildren, Allison, Cedar, Grant, Alivia, and Jaxson; sisters, Theresa and Anna; and many nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
Family is having a private service on October 2nd to celebrate Helen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, Meals on Wheels, 3621 S. State Street, Ste. 650 Ann Arbor MI, 48108, or the New Day Foundation for families fighting cancer.
