I was blessed to call Shannon my friend for over 40 years. We met in the 3rd grade and we had a lot of fun over the years. Family trips and football. A lot of golf and a lot of 9-ball. I never beat him at golf, he was an excellent golfer, but I did occasionally manage to beat him at pool even though he was a shark and better than me. He talked me into going skydiving one time. I was too scared to go more than once, but he went several times. We rode motorcycles and had many campfires complete with deep philosophical discussions. We saw eye to eye on almost everything. I could always count on him to listen when I needed to blow off some steam. He was my best friend, my friend for life. We always had a blast. Life is less fun without him. He had the worst struggle, but he fought hard. He did what he thought he had to do, but that was not Shannon. He had an illness, and that's what took him. He's at peace. I miss him. My deepest condolences to Barb, Charley, Aaron, and Marissa.
