It is with great sorrow we announce that our mother Marian, age 90, died Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Evangelical Home in Saline. She was born August 13, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Charles Robert Ernest and Mattie Lee (Hooper) Brown.

Marian worked in the trucking industry, retiring from Roadway Trucking in 1995, as Regional Claims Manager. She was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Boca Raton, Florida. She liked to travel. She traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and Hong Kong. Marian was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor.

Marian is survived and cherished by three daughters and one son, Patricia (Donald) Callahan Kobane of Ann Arbor, Beverly (Robert) Dexter of West Branch, Susan (Brian) Henriksen of Boyne City, and David Tapp of Canton; 11 grandchildren, Brennan Callahan, Scott Dexter, Michael Dexter, Jason Mihalko, Kara Stemmer, Amanda Moceri, Cody Tapp, Ashlyn Tapp, Megan Wilson, Melissa Dewitt, and Colleen Henriksen; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

Marian was married to Everett Neal Tapp, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2006. She was also preceded in death by two other husbands, Clarence Adam and Frank Mansfield; as well as seven siblings, Lorene, Sarah, Charles, Dell, Henry, Marjorie, and Lavada.

A Celebration of Life was held Tuesday, July 26, 11:30 am at the Chelsea Depot, 125 Jackson Street, Chelsea, MI 48118. A private burial will be held at Oak Grove East Cemetery in Chelsea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 564 S. Main St. Ann Arbor, MI 48104 or Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Dr. Ann Arbor, MI 48103.

Mrs. Tapp was a wonderful person who was so proud of her entire family. May God rest her soul.
