Roberta Hartwell Anderson, age 93, died May 28, 2022 at Silver Maples in Chelsea. She was born February 8, 1929, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Robert R. and Mabel (Hargrove) Hartwell. Roberta graduated from North Dakota State University in 1951 and was married to Edwin F. Anderson that same year. Roberta loved her home and homemaking. Roberta was very active in her church and community for most of her life. She served leadership positions in the Methodist churches in Dearborn, Michigan and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She also taught Sunday School and was Junior High youth leader. She was on the Speaker's Bureau of the League of Women Voters (Welfare Reform). For many years she was active with a social worker in southeast Dearborn where she was a member of the Southeast Dearborn Community Council. This was one of her favorite memories of volunteer work. Roberta served as president of her P.E.O. Sisterhood chapter and president of the Dearborn Junior Winter Study Club. Roberta enjoyed playing bridge and traveling with her husband.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons: Gary Alan (Lisa) of South Bend, Indiana, and Thomas Craig (Karen) of Highland, Michigan. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Christopher, Sarah, Mathew (Angelica) and Craig; two great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Jacob.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1 from 3-5 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel.  Her memorial service will be Thursday, June 2, 11:00 am at Silver Maples of Chelsea (in the Maples Room), with Rev.
