Age 82, of Chelsea, formerly of Ann Arbor Michigan, peacefully passed away April 22, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Ethel and Elmer Porter, on November 14,1939, in Pontiac, Michigan.

Sharon married Theodore Kokenakes on March 25th, 1963 where they lived together in Ann Arbor, Michigan for fifty five years before relocating to Chelsea, Michigan. Sharon is preceded in death by her daughter Therese Kokenakes. Sharon is survived by her two daughters: Melissa Kokenakes of Chelsea, and Jennifer Kokenakes (Scott Cratty) of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by two grandchildren Sarah Budnick and Nathan Budnick.

Sharon worked at the University of Michigan Hospital for 32 years. Sharon always kept busy and was full of life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, sewing, shopping, gardening and cheering for her favorite football team (Go Blue!). Sharon and Ted enjoyed traveling the world. Some of their many adventures included Greece, Italy, Hawaii and her favorite destination, Ireland, where she kissed the Blarney Stone.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the team at Towsley Village in Chelsea, for their wonderful care for the past two years and the team at Arbor Hospice for their care and support during this time.

Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Ann Arbor. In lieu of flowers and to honor Sharon’s memory, the family suggest donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
