of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Diamond, Missouri; Jackson, Michigan; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Orlando, Florida; and Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 80, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born June 21, 1941, in Granby, Missouri, the daughter of Henry Roy and Grace Hettie (Fitzgerald) Boehning.

Karen grew up in Diamond, Missouri, and was raised as a Southern Baptist. She worked as a homemaker and then as a flight attendant with Trans World Airlines and US Airways. Karen held her private pilot license.

Karen is survived by one son, Steven “Timothy” (Carrie) Clary of Jackson; three daughters, Jamie Ann Kelly (Dan) Dibartolomeo of Denver, CO, Lara Raquel (Eric) Clary-Lantis of Chelsea, Karen “Michele” Chester of Buda, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Beverly “Sue” Wilson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dana Maree Pierce in 1997, and her brother, Marshall Boehning of Texas.

A memorial service was held Monday, March 21, 1:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea, with Rev. Larry Lyons officiating. The family received friends Sunday, March 20, 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel.
