of Pleasant Lake, Michigan, age 69, passed away at home with his loving wife, Laurie, and his dog, Dino, on December 6, 2020 from Covid complications. He was born on March 20, 1951 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Audrey Lucile (Hugh) Clark and Dale (Joyce) Tibbitts. On October 24, 2009, he married Laurie (Howard). They were together 17 years and she survives him. In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his bonus son, Joseph Howard, his sister, Jacqueline (John) Curtis of Gaylord, niece Rebekah (Nick) Sheppard of Gaylord and nephew Brad (Kim) Curtis of Chesterfield, great nieces and nephews Ryan, Emma, Drew, and Everlie, Aunt Joyce Tibbitts of Fenton, cousin Mark (Terry) Tibbitts of Fenton, cousin Kathy (Alan Tousley) Owen-Tousley of Pleasant Lake. Sister-in-law Karen Hawver (Beth Sherman) of Ann Arbor, Julie Calbert of Jackson, Susan (Bob) Annis of Florida, and nieces and nephews Bradley, Faith, Emma, Ben, Cassandra, and great niece and nephew Catalina and Max. Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father, Uncle Robert Tibbitts, Aunt and Uncle Roberta and Richard Wright, Cousin Scott Tibbitts, Mother-in-Law Patricia Hawver and Brother-in-Law Burt King.

Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father figure, brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend. He served in the Army from 1969 to 1975 and retired from his job at Parker Hannifan in 2014. He loved farming, going to Case tractor and steam engine shows, visiting small town breweries, and motorcycle swap meets. He enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, nature and especially spending time on his property. He loved watching Westerns. He also loved animals of all kinds, especially his dogs Fred, Taz, and Dino and his Maine Coon cat, Elvis. He fed the birds every morning. Paul shared a love of riding Harleys with his wife and was a member of Forbidden Wheels MC for many years. Paul loved to have a good conversation and was an excellent cook. He canned every year and loved to cook and grill for his wife and family. He will be dearly missed as a caring, strong, and steady presence by his family and friends.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a date to be determined, when Covid restrictions have been lifted. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cascade Humane Society in Jackson, Michigan.
