of Chelsea, Michigan, age 92, died Friday, August 12, 2016 in Chelsea, Michigan. She was born April 8, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Edward J. & Nora M. (Steffen) Dyar. Dorothy retired in 1985 from working in the engineering department at the University of Michigan. She also worked as an office manager for Ernst Electric in Ann Arbor. Dorothy has been a resident of Silver Maples for the last 5 years, and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. She previously attended St. Paul Student Chapel in Big Rapids. Dorothy enjoyed golf, bowling, slot machines, and watching the stock market.  She was proud of and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy married Robert Thomas Fisher, a fellow classmate from High School in Detroit, on September 8, 1945 in San Diego, CA, and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2009. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Pam) of Higginsville, MO and Gary (Brenda) of Ypsilanti; three daughters, Beverly Adams of Springfield, VA, Barbara Fisher of Ann Arbor, and Patrice (Patrick) Pergolski of Weston, WI; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by all six of her siblings, Patricia McClure, Marie Weedon, Joseph Dyar, Francis Dyar, Raymond Dyar, and Edward Dyar .

The family will receive friends at Cole Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 4-6 pm, with the Rosary at 6 pm, and on Monday from 10-11 am at the church.  A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 15, 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea, with Rev. Dr. William J. Turner officiating.  Burial will be along side her husband of 64 years at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.  Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice.
